Q. What is our cancellation Policy?
A. Please notify us if you need to cancel or reschedule. No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of departure. If we cancel any trip due to weather, unsafe conditions, or insufficient reservations, a full refund will be provided.
Q. Is it appropriate to tip the guide and how much should we tip?
A. While it is entirely up to you, tips are appreciated. Typically we suggest 15-20%.
Q. When is the best time of day to see wildlife?
A. While we cannot guarantee multiple animal sightings, generally the best chances for the larger animals is on our earliest or latest float of the day. However, we do often see Moose throughout the day.
Q. What types of animals can be seen while on your float trips?
A. Large animals that can be seen from the river include; Moose, Elk, Pronghorn, Bison, Bears and sometimes Wolves. Smaller animals are more frequently seen and include; Bald Eagles, Osprey, Hawks, Geese, Pelicans, Ducks, Beaver, River Otters, Coyotes and more.
Q. Do you float entirely in Grand Teton National Park?
A. Yes, we are an authorized concessioner and our floats are entirely within Grand Teton National Park. We float from Deadman’s Bar to Moose and our dinner float starts two miles up river from Deadman’s and floats to Moose. This stretch or river parallels the Teton Range and offers the best views of the tallest peaks of any of the river stretches in Jackson Hole.
Q. How far in advance should we make our reservations?
A. This depends on the day and time of trip you are interested in. Our trips do book up, but same day reservations are possible. We stop taking reservations one hour prior to the schedule trip time. We recommend making reservations as far in advance as possible just to be sure.
Q. What is the minimum age for children to participate?
A. Our minimum age is 5 years old and 50lbs.
Q. Are these trips appropriate for seniors?
A. Yes, our trips are fun for all ages.
Q. Do you have a weight limit.
A. We do not have a published weight limit, but everyone must fit into one of our provided life jackets. Our PFD’s fit up to a 58 inch chest.
Q. Will we be getting wet?
A. No, our trip are flat water scenic floats. They are not whitewater trips.
Q. How long are your trips?
A. Most of our trips are 10-mile floats and from the time we check you in to the time you return to your vehicle you will want to plan 2.5-3 hours into your schedule. Actual floating time is around 1.5-2 hours. Times vary due to changing river flow.
Q. What happens if there is bad weather like rain?
A. We make weather decisions on a case by case basis and generally do not make weather cancellations until very near the time of the trip. Mountain weather can change very quickly and frequently. If the conditions warrant a complete cancellation you will be refunded or scheduled on a later trip. If conditions would allow us to go, but might not be enjoyable for some, we will often give you the option to cancel with a refund or reschedule.
Q. How many people do you take per boat?
A. We generally take 12 people per boat.
Q. Are there restrooms available?
A. There are restrooms available at the check-in location, the boat launch and the take-out. While on the boat there is no chance for a restroom and we are unable to stop. You should plan to be on the boat for 1.5-2 hours.
Q. Do you provide food on your trips?
A. We only provide food on our lunch and dinner floats. You are more than welcome to bring snacks or sack lunches on any of our trips.
