Scenic River Guide

The primary responsibility of a scenic river guide is to provide enjoyable and informative interpretive float trips on the Snake River to visitors of Grand Teton National Park. Guides can expect to average 3 trips per day, with the average time of each trip around 3 hours (2 hours on the water). All rowing and maneuvering of the raft is the responsibility of the guide.

All selected applicants will be required to successfully complete our guide training before graduating as one of our professional river guides. Previous rowing experience is not required, but any oarmanship experience will be given higher consideration. The Deadman’s Bar to Moose stretch of the Snake is what we primarily float and it is a very technical stretch of river. Learning to manuever our large heavy boats safely, takes time, so please plan on extensive training.

We are looking for outgoing, responsible and hardworking individuals who excel in the customer service industry. Guides must be very safety conscious and work well in a team environment. Must be 21 years of age.

To be considered for a scenic float guide position with Triangle X Ranch you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement to drive our company vehicles).
  • Preference is given to those who work through our entire season, which is mid-May through September.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and a 10-year background check. Random drug testing is conducted throughout the season.

Scenic float guides are paid per trip and entry-level pay is based on experience. For more information about compensation, and any other inquiries, please contact Lucas Turner at (307) 733-5500.
