The Float Trip Experience
The natural beauty seen while on one of our float trips lets Grand Teton National Park visitors discover the magic of the Snake River from a very unique perspective. Get off the beaten path and discover the Snake River corridor which is a lifeline to many of the animals and other natural resources of Grand Teton National Park. Our river guides are all personable, top hands who are trained to meet National Park and Triangle X Ranch requirements. Mindful of the rich heritage of the Snake River and this Teton Mountain valley, our guides enjoy enriching your visit with interpretations of the area’s wildlife, geology, human and natural history.
Lasting approximately 2.5-3 hours, our trips are the ideal length allowing you time to schedule other activities into your day.
After we shuttle you from the meeting location to launch point your guide will give his/her group a thorough safety orientation.
Once on the river plan for a relaxing and informative flat water float trip aboard one of our custom made 22’ inflatable rafts. The guide does all the rowing from a frame in the center of the boat.
We generally take 12 people per raft and at times will launch multiple rafts. Each boat is launched in a fashion to allow enough spacing between boats so you will generally not see another scenic raft while on the river. Plan to be on the boat for 1.5 – 2 hours depending on river flow.
Children through seniors enjoy our float trips. Children must be at least 5 years old and properly fit into an approved flotation device (must weigh 40 lbs). Minimum age requirements may be modified due to changing river conditions.
You should bring:
- A light jacket or sweater as temperatures can be cool on the water
- Dress comfortably for the temperature in casual clothing and wear soft soled shoes for your comfort. You will not be getting wet.
comfortable life preservers that must properly fit all passengers (required to be worn on all float trips) and rain ponchos if needed. Remember, mountain weather can be unpredictable.
Our equipment is maintained in excellent condition. Rafts are roomy and comfortable and we designed them with your safety in mind.
